The Spring Garden shallow triangular shawl is worked bottom-up starting with the lace border, which is a mix of the garter stitch, lace and eyelet patterns. The lace border adds a delicate touch to this rather casual accessory. The lace border is worked in two colours, main color (MC) and contrast color (CC), using one colour at a time. After the lace border is complete, the body is knit in garter stitch pattern, using the main color (MC) only, and shaped into a triangle using short rows knitting technique.

Even though a small shawl could be a practical choice for many, it is easy to make this shawl in larger sizes, just by increasing the number of cast-on stitches in increments of 16 stitches.

The stitch patterns used for the lace border include written as well as charted instructions. The SCHEMATICS, CHART and it’s Kea are located on the last pages. The rows in the written instructions for the lace border correspond to the rows in the CHART for easy reference. The instructions for the BODY part is written out (not charted).
