Who This Is For
This will suit writers who have begun a draft and are ready to engage more deeply with its structure and direction. If you have reached a point of uncertainty, or who would benefit from a more detailed response to your work, this option is for you.
The Deep Dive Review offers a more sustained and detailed reading of your writing. It is designed for those who have made a strong start but feel uncertain about how the narrative is developing, or whether it can carry the same clarity and momentum. You can submit up to 15,000 words, which I will read closely. This allows me to engage not only with the surface of the prose, but with the underlying structure- how the story is unfolding, how characters are functioning within it and where the writing feels assured or still in progress.
Following this, you’ll receive a detailed editorial letter reflecting on the extract as a whole. This is not a line edit! The conversation will identify its strengths, draw attention to areas that may need further development and offer suggestions for how the writing might be deepened or clarified.
We then meet for a 90-minute session to talk through the feedback together. This kind of close reading helps bring into focus what a piece is really doing, where the energy lies and where it begins to lose momentum.
Alongside the manuscript itself, there is also space to reflect more broadly on the writing process, including questions around development, next steps and the expectations of the publishing landscape.
Next Steps...
I work with a small number of writers at a time, as the kind of reading and feedback I offer requires time, attention, and a close engagement with each piece of work.
Before booking is confirmed, you’ll be asked to share a little about your project. I’ll read this to ensure the session is the right fit, and then be in touch with next steps, including payment and scheduling.
The form itself is simply a way for me to understand where you are with your writing and what you might need. There’s no expectation to have everything figured out, a few honest reflections are more than enough.
To help me understand your work before we meet, could you please share a few brief details below. You might like to include:
- A sentence or two about your project (idea, genre, or stage)
- What you’re finding most challenging at the moment
- What you’d most like to get out of the session
- Roughly how much you’ve written so far
