Foundation / Kindergarten Term 2 Homeschool Program
✨ Foundation (Kindergarten) – Term 2
Caring for Allah’s World
This Foundation (Kindergarten) homeschool program is a continuation of Term 1: Allah Created Everything, building gently on the foundations already established. Term 2 deepens children’s understanding of the world by focusing on care, responsibility and gratitude, guiding them to recognise their role as caretakers within Allah’s ﷻ creation through an Islamic worldview.
Learning is approached through the lens of Islam, where knowledge, character and responsibility are inseparable. The program offers calm, structured daily learning aligned with the Australian Curriculum (ACARA) Foundation outcomes, while remaining firmly rooted in Islamic values. Learning experiences expand on concepts introduced in Term 1, supporting steady progression without pressure or overwhelm. When followed across all four terms, the program supports balanced engagement with the full range of Foundation learning in an age-appropriate way.
Designed for families who value both structure and flexibility, this resource allows parents to remain closely involved in their child’s learning journey while choosing pacing and resources that best suit their household. Learning remains grounded in real-life experiences, thoughtful discussion and hands-on activities that nurture character alongside academic growth.
This resource is designed to be used flexibly, one day at a time, supporting families as they build steady routines and meaningful learning moments. It is not about rushing content or worrying about future outcomes, but about raising children who understand responsibility, value care and balance, and recognise their role as caretakers of Allah’s world.
This is not a scripted curriculum or workbook-based package. It is a flexible planning and guidance tool that supports parents in planning, delivering, assessing and record-keeping across the term, while ensuring curriculum coverage using their own preferred resources.
📘 Learning Focus – Term 2
English (Early Literacy & Language)
Early literacy in the Foundation years is approached with care and intention. English learning in Term 2 is designed using research-informed, developmentally appropriate methods, particularly important during Kindergarten. Lessons focus on systematic phonics, oral language development and meaningful early reading and writing experiences.
Across the term, children are supported to:
- Develop phonological and phonemic awareness through listening, play, stories and movement
- Build sound–letter knowledge and early blending skills
- Strengthen oral language, vocabulary and comprehension
- Apply early reading and writing skills in simple, meaningful contexts
These experiences are designed to support confidence, readiness and strong foundations for future literacy learning.
Mathematics
Children continue developing early mathematical understanding through hands-on, practical experiences, including:
- Building number sense through counting, grouping and comparing
- Exploring early addition and subtraction strategies
- Investigating patterns, measurement, money, data and time
- Applying mathematical thinking to everyday, real-world situations
Mathematics learning remains practical, engaging and grounded in familiar contexts.
Integrated Studies & Creative Learning
Children explore care, responsibility and belonging through integrated learning experiences that include:
- Understanding family, community and shared responsibility
- Exploring the natural and built environment
- Developing curiosity, observation and gratitude for Allah’s creation
- Responding creatively through art, discussion and hands-on activities
These learning areas work together to support a holistic understanding of the world and the child’s role within it.
