Our World of Belonging

This Foundation (Kindergarten) homeschool program brings the year together with a focus on belonging, identity, relationships and community, guiding children to reflect on their place within Allah’s world.

Term 4 builds upon the learning, skills and values developed throughout the earlier terms, supporting children to recognise their connection to their families, communities and the wider ummah, while remaining mindful of the natural world Allah ﷻ has created.

Learning is approached through an Islamic worldview, where knowledge, character and purpose are inseparable. The program offers gentle, structured daily learning aligned with the Australian Curriculum (ACARA) Foundation outcomes, while remaining firmly rooted in Islamic values. Children continue to strengthen communication, early literacy and numeracy skills while deepening social understanding, emotional awareness and responsibility towards others.

Across the term, children explore cooperation, gratitude, fairness and care through real-life situations, shared stories, problem-solving tasks and creative expression. Learning invites reflection on what it means to belong, how to interact peacefully with others, and how individual actions contribute to a caring and respectful environment.

As with the previous terms, this resource is designed to be used flexibly, one day at a time. It supports families in maintaining steady routines and meaningful conversations, while allowing pacing and resources to be adapted to suit individual households as the year draws to a close.

When used as part of the complete four-term program, Term 4 helps consolidate learning from across the year, supporting children to move into the next stage of learning with confidence, empathy and a strong sense of belonging rooted in faith.

This is not a scripted curriculum or workbook-based package. It is a flexible planning and guidance tool that supports parents in planning, delivering, assessing and record-keeping across the term, while ensuring curriculum coverage.

📘 Learning Focus – Term 4

English (Early Literacy & Language)

Early literacy learning in Term 4 continues to be guided by research-informed, developmentally appropriate approaches, supporting children as they consolidate foundational reading, writing and oral language skills.

Across the term, children are supported to:

• Consolidate phonics knowledge through purposeful reading and writing
• Strengthen comprehension, oral retelling and sequencing
• Apply literacy skills in meaningful, real-life and story-based contexts
• Develop confidence communicating ideas, feelings and experiences

Literacy learning is closely connected to themes of belonging, relationships and community, allowing children to use language in ways that feel relevant and authentic.

Mathematics

Children continue to strengthen mathematical understanding through hands-on, practical learning, including:

• Consolidating number knowledge and early operations
• Exploring measurement, patterns, data, money and time
• Applying mathematical thinking to everyday situations

Learning remains concrete, playful and grounded in familiar contexts.

Integrated Studies, Wellbeing & Creative Learning

Learning across science, humanities, wellbeing and the arts is thoughtfully woven throughout the term, supporting children to:
