This stranded reversible cowl is part of a series of 12 patterns that form my Canadian Art Deco Knits e-book. You can buy the cowl individually or as part of the Canadian Art Deco Knits e-book.

This design comes from the marble floor designs in two different buildings: the R.C. Harris Water Treatment Plant in Toronto and Peterson Hall in Montréal.

The cowl is started with a provisional cast on. Once one side is completed, a purl round is worked for the fold, then the second side is knit. All of the stranded knitting is worked with only two colors at a time. If a third color is needed, it is worked afterwards in duplicate stitch. When all the knitting and duplicate stitch is done and the ends are darned in, the last round is grafted to the provisional cast on.

The sample cowl used the following amount of Shelridge Yarns Soft Touch Ultra Solid:
  • 2 skeins Goldenrod (approx. 60g used)
  • 1 skein Black (appprox. 45g used)
  • 1 skein Pussywillow (approx. 45g used)
  • 1 skein Rust (approx. 35g used)
