TME Advanced Table Tennis – Complete Years 7–9 Scheme of Learning

Develop skilful and thoughtful table tennis players through 12 progressive lessons for Years 7–9. Pupils refine their ready position, movement, forehand and backhand techniques, serving, returning, pushing, driving, blocking, placement and use of spin.

The scheme progresses towards purposeful rally construction, attacking and defensive responses, serve-and-return strategies and singles and doubles tactics. Pupils learn to read ball flight, anticipate an opponent’s intentions and vary their own play.

Detailed lesson plans include table organisation, equipment, role rotations, teaching cues and success criteria. Visual infographics, STEP differentiation, SEND and EAL support, Assessment for Learning, Head–Heart–Hands criteria and umpiring roles are included. Plan–Monitor–Reflect tasks and oracy prompts support tactical reasoning, performance analysis and precise peer coaching.
