TME Advanced Handball – Complete Years 7–9 Scheme of Learning

Introduce pupils to the fast-paced technical and tactical demands of handball through 14 progressive Years 7–9 lessons. Pupils develop passing, receiving, dribbling, shooting, jump shots, movement, marking and goalkeeping before applying them within increasingly challenging games.

The scheme teaches pupils to create and exploit space, use numerical advantage, support attacks, organise defensive units and transition quickly between attack and defence. Leadership, communication and officiating are developed alongside physical performance.

Each lesson provides practical court organisation, measurements, timings, equipment and clear technical teaching points. Visual infographics, STEP differentiation, SEND and EAL guidance, safety information, Assessment for Learning and Head–Heart–Hands criteria support consistent teaching. Plan–Monitor–Reflect activities and oracy prompts encourage tactical discussion, peer coaching and evidence-based evaluation.
