TME Advanced Dance – Evolution of Dance: Complete Years 7–9 Scheme of Learning

Take pupils on a creative journey through the development of dance with 12 engaging and progressive lessons. Pupils explore contrasting styles, movement characteristics and cultural influences before using this knowledge to create, refine and perform original choreography.

The scheme develops motifs, actions, space, dynamics, relationships, transitions and compositional structure. Pupils work independently and collaboratively, learning how to communicate an intention, respond to a stimulus and make informed creative decisions.

Detailed lesson plans and visual infographics provide clear teaching guidance, timings, organisation and performance expectations. The resource also includes STEP differentiation, SEND and EAL support, Head–Heart–Hands assessment, Assessment for Learning and roles for pupils who are temporarily unable to perform. Plan–Monitor–Reflect activities and extended oracy prompts support creative discussion, peer feedback, interpretation and thoughtful evaluation.
