The attachment is a complete 30-page TME Advanced Trampolining resource for KS3, combining a 7-lesson Advanced scheme of learning with a separate 6-lesson Advanced Year 9 progression. It is designed to take pupils from safe, controlled trampoline foundations through body landings, routine composition, performance and evaluation, with a more demanding Year 9 pathway that bridges towards KS4 Performance level.

The resource begins with two detailed curriculum-introduction pages for the Advanced scheme. These cover curriculum context, prior learning, British Values and SMSC, National Curriculum links, Know/Show learning, key vocabulary, and the TME Head, Heart and Hands assessment model. Assessment is broken into Developing, Secure and Greater Depth, alongside Assessment for Learning using Check – Adapt – Re-check, metacognition and oracy through Plan – Monitor – Evaluate, and inclusive SEND/EAL delivery guidance.

The seven Advanced KS3 lessons cover:

  • Safe routines, centre control and a performance baseline
  • Shape jumps and controlled landings
  • Twists, direction and spatial awareness
  • Seat landing and controlled recovery
  • Front-landing readiness and safe recovery
  • Eight-element routine composition, fluency and peer coaching
  • Final performance assessment, judging and personal review

Each lesson is a detailed one-page teaching plan including learning objectives, Warm-up, Explore, Develop and Apply activities, plenary, organisation, teaching cues, explicit safety guidance, differentiation, assessment evidence, SEND/EAL adaptations, non-active roles and metacognitive/oracy prompts. For example, Lesson 1 includes centre-control checks, safe mounting and dismounting, performer/spotter/coach roles, safety thresholds, differentiated challenges and evidence-based reflection.

Every written lesson is followed by a full-page visual infographic. These turn the lesson into an easy-to-use teaching resource with illustrated Warm-up, Explore, Develop and Apply sections, Head/Heart/Hands assessment, STEP differentiation, apparatus and safety guidance, key teaching points, SEND/EAL support and Plan–Monitor–Reflect prompts. This means the resource can support both detailed planning before the lesson and quick reference during delivery.

The second half contains a dedicated Advanced Year 9 six-lesson scheme. Its introduction establishes Year 9 readiness, curriculum links, equipment, safety expectations and progression towards KS4. The six-lesson sequence moves through Control, Safety and Readiness; Shapes, Twists and Precision; Body Landings and Recovery; Advanced Linking and an Optional Somersault Pathway; Independent Routine Composition and Coaching; and KS4 Performance, Judging and Evaluation.

A particularly strong feature of the Year 9 section is its readiness-led advanced pathway. Somersault work is not treated as an automatic progression: it is only included for appropriately advanced pupils where teacher qualification, school policy and individual readiness permit. Pupils who are not ready follow an equally challenging non-inverted pathway based on advanced linking, control, judging and analysis.

Overall, this is much more than a collection of lesson ideas. It provides a complete planning, delivery, assessment and progression package, combining curriculum intent, detailed lesson content, high-quality visual teaching aids, safety, inclusion, metacognition, oracy and evidence-led assessment from Advanced KS3 through to Year 9 preparation for KS4.
