TME Advanced Basketball – Complete Years 7–9 Scheme of Learning

Develop skilful and tactically aware basketball players with this comprehensive 14-lesson Years 7–9 scheme. Pupils progressively improve passing, receiving, dribbling, changes of direction, shooting, lay-ups, rebounding, marking and movement off the ball.

As the scheme develops, pupils explore attacking width, support play, numerical advantage, defensive positioning, transition and the creation and adaptation of team tactics. Conditioned games ensure that techniques are applied purposefully in realistic situations.

Each lesson provides detailed timings, court organisation, equipment, groupings, teaching cues and success criteria. Visual infographics, STEP differentiation, SEND and EAL support, safety guidance, non-participating roles and Head–Heart–Hands assessment are also included. Metacognition and oracy activities encourage pupils to explain decisions, evaluate evidence, provide constructive feedback and refine team strategies.
