TME Advanced Hockey – Complete Years 7–9 Scheme of Learning

Build confident and tactically aware hockey players with 14 progressive lessons designed for Years 7–9. Pupils develop safe stick handling, carrying, dribbling, pushing, receiving, tackling and shooting before applying these skills in conditioned and competitive games.

The scheme explores attacking width, support, passing combinations, defensive positioning, pressing, transition and decision-making under pressure. Pupils learn to recognise space, select appropriate techniques and work effectively within different team roles.

Detailed lesson plans provide pitch dimensions, equipment, timings, group organisation, technical cues and explicit stick-safety guidance. The package also includes visual lesson infographics, STEP differentiation, SEND and EAL support, Assessment for Learning, Head–Heart–Hands assessment and meaningful non-playing roles. Metacognition and oracy prompts develop observation, tactical reasoning, peer feedback and independent improvement.
