This pattern is available in both English and Swedish, both versions are included in the purchase.
Ljus (pronounced /jʊəs/ or ‘yews’) means light. This design is made with light in mind, long Scandinavian summer evenings when the sun barely sleeps. A light weight asymmetrical shawl it’s a great layer for both summer and for cold winters.
The colours are a collaboration with Down Sheepy Lane.
Yarn: Down Sheepy Lane merino/nylon 425m/100g
MC (362m)/396yds of 4-ply yarn
CC 5x10g (135m/148yds in total, min 3 g of each colour)
MC: White speckled
CC1: Steel grey
CC2: grey-pink speckle
CC3: Graphite grey
CC4: Rose gold
CC5: Granite speckles
Needles: 3.75mm (US5)
Gauge unblocked: 21 sts/10 cm
Measurements: wingspan 180 cm/71”, width 46cm/18”
Tassels and pompoms!
Tassels and pompoms are just so much fun to play with. Several of the testers added pompoms to their shawls, and I added tassels to mine. A tutorial for making tassels without template is available on www.brixtonpurl.com
