The Promised Land Made Simple
The Promised Land -- from Abraham's call to Joshua's conquest: God's covenant faithfulness, the wilderness testing, and entering the rest He prepared (Genesis 12:1-7; Exodus 3:7-8; Joshua 21:43-45; Hebrews 4:1-11).
The Promised Land Made Simple is a Bible-first walk through the longest promise in Scripture: the call of Abraham out of Ur, the covenant God sealed by walking alone between the pieces, the burning-bush promise of a land flowing with milk and honey, the Red Sea deliverance, the manna in the wilderness, the spy report at Kadesh Barnea, forty years of testing, the crossing of the Jordan at flood stage, the fall of Jericho, and the triumphant verdict -- "There failed not ought of any good thing which the LORD had spoken... all came to pass" (Joshua 21:45). It closes where the story was always headed: the true rest that remains for the people of God in Jesus Christ (Hebrews 4:9-11).
Explicitly Trinitarian: God the Father who promises and swears and never fails; Jesus Christ -- Son of God and Son of Man, Lord and Savior, the greater Joshua who leads us into the true rest; and the Holy Spirit, who alone gives power to cross rivers, topple walls, and possess promises. Every prayer is to the Father, through Jesus Christ, by the Holy Spirit.
Read one chapter a day. Come honest. Read slowly. Pray boldly. And when God speaks, do not delay like Israel did at Kadesh. Enter.
