During Hong Kong’s monsoon season, we set out to record the ever-changing sound of the city under rain. From light drizzles tapping on rooftops to torrential downpours flooding alleyways and ferry terminals, this library documents the full mood of a city shaped by the rain season.

We recorded rain in narrow streets, water cascading off rooftops, boat engines humming through the harbor, and thunder rolling across Kowloon. In Central, we recorded the sound of rain-soaked commuters waiting for buses, while in quieter corners, the stillness became its own kind of music.

From eerie urban isolation to dense, cinematic stormscapes, this library is packed with ambiences for sound designers, filmmakers, and audio creatives looking for real, immersive, rain-drenched city atmospheres.
