Omishima Sunset

Omishima is a treasure of an island nestled in the Geiyo island chain off the northern coast of Japan’s Ehime Prefecture. It’s possible to drive completely around many of these islands by car, as they’re connected to the mainland (Hiroshima & Ehime) and each other by bridge or water taxi. The Seto Inland Sea is rich in biodiversity and everywhere you go on these islands you’ll encounter fishing boats, stacks of octopus traps and scallop shells, people diving for sea urchins and the occasional seaweed or oyster farming operation. Along with the fragrant scent of millions of orange blossoms in May, these islands are also known for their stunning sunsets year-round, and I was lucky enough to capture one. This vivid 4 x 6-inch, postcard-sized sunset will add a joyful yet calming splash of color to your home or office space.
