This is Issue 3 of The Shelterdeck, 29th November, 2016.
Sadly, only 9% of those who read the synopsis of the 2nd edition of The Shelterdeck, that was published on the 30th October 2016,went on to download the whole document. The nominal charge of £1.49 would appear to have killed it off! This was rather disappointing, but not unexpected. I am afraid there is not much interest in merchant ships these days! The first issue of The Shelterdeck is still available free of charge via this link: https://payhip.com/b/mMQw and the 2nd issue for £1.49 (See download links in The Shelterdeck.) The links in the download will work, provided you are connected to the Internet.
This third issue contains, amongst other things, a General Arrangement plan of the Norwegian cruising yacht Stella Polaris, of 1927, and an illustrated build log for the model.
There are also some short articles on life in the American clipper Cyrus Wakefield in the late 1890s, embarking on the Union liner Tartar at the start of a voyage to South Africa in the 1890s, an account of the steam coaster Glen Helen, of 1918 and an account of the loss of the British full-rigged ship Phasis, of 1880.
Plus a list of available downloads with their appropriate links.
