To knit both these patterns you will need 270m/296yds of aran yarn. The yarn recommendations in each pattern are just that: recommendations. But you can use any aran yarn you like to get a matching set or if you want to have different colours then you will need 180m/197yds of yarn for Cowl Number 2.1 and then 90m/99m for Beanie Number 2.
