Aire Barroco

🇺🇸 A Latin American vision of the Baroque period.

Consolidated as a suite in 2018, Aire Barroco is a work for solo guitar that explores the meeting point between European classical tradition and Latin American sensitivity.

What originally began as a brief piece titled "Aria y Gallarda" was expanded by Maestro Efraín Silva into a four-movement structure that evokes the architecture of the Baroque period through a personal lens.

The piece is dedicated to the renowned master Lorenzo Camejo, celebrating his 40-year artistic career, and includes movements dedicated to the author's students, Mariel and Samaria.

Conceptually, the work plays with the idea of a vision where the guitar captures the metallic resonance of the Aragüean harp (also known as Central or Tuyera), echoing the prominence of the harpsichord in the 17th century.

This volume includes:

1. Aria: A melodic introduction with a lyrical character.
2. Adagio (Mariel): Dedicated to his student Mariel; a movement of profound expression.
3. Recitativo: A connecting passage that mimics the freedom of vocal declamation.
4. Gallarda (Samaria): Dedicated to his student Samaria; a rhythmic closing inspired by the carol "Deck the Halls" with a Venezuelan pulse.

🇪🇸 Una visión latinoamericana del periodo barroco.

Consolidada como una suite en 2018, Aire Barroco es una obra para guitarra sola que explora el punto de encuentro entre la tradición clásica europea y la sensibilidad latinoamericana.

Lo que comenzó originalmente como una pieza breve titulada "Aria y Gallarda", fue expandido por el Maestro Efraín Silva en una estructura de cuatro movimientos que evoca la arquitectura del periodo barroco desde una óptica personal.

La pieza está dedicada al reconocido maestro Lorenzo Camejo, celebrando sus 40 años de trayectoria artística, e incluye movimientos dedicados a las alumnas del autor, Mariel y Samaria.

Conceptualmente, la obra juega con la idea de una visión donde la guitarra captura la resonancia metálica del arpa aragüeña (también conocida como Central o Tuyera), haciendo eco al protagonismo del clavecín en el siglo XVII.

Este volumen incluye:

1. Aria: Introducción melódica de carácter lírico.
2. Adagio (Mariel): Dedicado a su alumna Mariel; un movimiento de profunda expresión.
3. Recitativo: Pasaje de conexión que imita la libertad.
4. Gallarda (Samaria): Dedicado a su alumna Samaria; cierre rítmico inspirado en el villancico Alegría por Doquiera con un pulso venezolano.
