From the first time I heard the Love So Soft song, it made me think of crochet. There’s no greater love than a love of yarn, and nothing as soft as a squishy new skein. Plus, the lyrics say “Got you hooked, now you’re caught up” - a clear reference to crochet (aka hooking)!
The Love So Soft Shawl embodies what I think of when I hear the song. The yarn is incredibly soft, a luscious blend of silk/merino that works up like a dream and is amazing to crochet with or wear. And the dyer behind Beloved Yarn is equally lovely, a soft and gentle person who exudes positivity and kindness. It’s a project of grace and serenity, that reminds me why I love crochet and the yarn community.

Differences in gauge will change the finished size and will also impact the yardage required.
The shawl is an asymmetrical half-hexagon. The wings are wider than the bottom and it curves gently upwards. The shape can be customized and the pattern includes a note for adding extra increases or moving the lines of increases to make the bottom wider/narrower.
The pattern can also be easily adjusted for size as it ends on any 3rd row.

1 repeat of 16 sts and 3 rows = 2.5”/6.5cm across and 1.25”/3.25 high. Gauge swatch is worked flat and measurements are taken after blocking. Do not stretch the fabric when checking gauge. Gauge is not essential to this pattern as a shawl that is slightly larger or smaller will still fit nicely, and the shawl can also be easily adjusted in length and width.Differences in gauge will change the finished size and will also impact the yardage required.

Yarn and colors
The sample is shown in lace, but the stitch pattern looks beautiful in up to an Aran. It’s most visible in a tonal or solid colorway, and would look incredible in a gradient. It’ll play well with variegated and reduce pooling, but the variegation will obscure the stitches.Skills required
