TME Intermediate Rugby Years 5–6 | Ages 9–11 | Upper KS2
Build confident and cooperative Tag Rugby players with seven safe, progressive lessons for Years 5–6.
The scheme introduces ball familiarity and end zones before developing passing and catching on the move. Pupils learn evasion and safe tagging, how to cross the gain line while passing backwards, and how support depth and overloads create attacking opportunities. Restarts, turnovers and continuity are developed before a final tournament and assessment.
Detailed teacher-ready plans and matching visual infographics accompany every lesson. The resource includes rules, vocabulary, technical cues, organisation, equipment, safety, Know and Show outcomes, Head–Heart–Hands assessment, AfL, STEP differentiation, SEND and EAL support and Plan–Monitor–Reflect prompts.
The non-contact format supports inclusive participation while preserving rugby’s essential principles of forward movement, backward passing, support, evasion and teamwork.
