Description:

The opening of Handel’s opera, Acis and Galatea, originally scored for strings, oboes and basso continuo, is arranged here for four recorders. An impressive piece, with fast flourishes in the upper parts and chromatic moments in the bassline. This piece is ideal for intermediate-advanced ensembles, and a great addition to any repertoire!

While the more difficult bars are mostly found in the Alto 1 part, the Alto 2 and Tenor lines also contain some semi-quaver passages.

This piece is also found collected in ‘A Selection of Works from Acis and Galatea’.
