Materials suggested are worsted weight yarn and a size J and I crochet hook.  You can easily adapt the pattern to use with the type of yarn you prefer in colors of white, off white or any color that you choose. The pattern is a vintage pattern to crochet from the past.

The pattern is for adult sizes small (8 to 10), medium (12 to 14) and large (16 to 18), and girl sizes small (4 to 6), medium (8 to 12), and large (12 to 14).
