Tain’t What You Do It’s The Way That You Do It
This is a gem of a solo albeit a very brief one. Simple and understated, it's still brimming with fun and personality. It's also nice to see Fats in a more linear and "stripped back" texture.
It occurs right after Fats' obligatory sing through of the first verse, so I've had to insert an extra odd bar after the intro to include the first notes of his solo.
For context, I've combined parts of the original recording with my digital playback and for the fact that the presence of Gene Sedric's sax makes a nice counterpoint to Fats' playing. [Apologies for my cutting and editing of the original recording but this was necessary for the purposes of highlighting just Fat's piano playing.]
