Product pricing and profit calculator spreadsheet for handmade sellers and small shops. It works with Excel & Google Sheets. Enter what a product costs you to make, pack and ship, pick where you sell it, and it shows what you really keep from each sale, your profit margin, your break-even price and the price that hits your target margin.

Most sellers price by guessing or copying the shop next door. Then the platform fees, payment processing, ads, packaging and the shipping label quietly eat the profit. This calculator puts every cost in one place, so you can see which products earn money, which are below your target and which are losing money.

WHAT'S INCLUDED (3 files)

  • Product_Profit_Calculator.xlsx: the blank workbook you work in
  • Product_Profit_Calculator_EXAMPLE.xlsx: a filled sample candle shop with 8 products sold in different places, so you can see how it works before you start
  • START_HERE.txt: what to open first and how to open it in Google Sheets

THE 6 TABS

  • Start Here: the steps in order and a few tips
  • Dashboard: sales, net profit and margin per month, items sold, average profit per item, how many sales cover your fixed costs, and counts of products losing money, below target and on target. Three charts: monthly profit by product, margin by product vs. your target, and where each sales dollar goes
  • Settings: your target profit margin, hourly labor rate, whether labor counts as a cost, fee presets for common places to sell (all editable, plus 2 custom rows), and your monthly fixed costs
  • Profit Calculator: price one product in detail. List each material by pack cost and it works out the cost per item. Add packaging, labor time, the shipping label you pay, discounts, shipping you charge and ad spend. See profit per sale, margin, what you earn per hour, break-even price, the price for your target margin and a what-if table from 30% lower to 30% higher
  • Product Catalog: up to 100 rows. List a product once for each place you sell it and see fees, total cost, profit, margin, break-even price, target price and a status for each one
  • Monthly Profit Plan: enter how many of each product you expect to sell per month and see sales, fees, costs, fixed costs, net profit per month and per year, your top 5 products and a watch list

HOW IT WORKS

1. Open the EXAMPLE file and look at the Dashboard and the Profit Calculator.

2. In the blank file, fill in Settings once: target margin, labor rate and monthly fixed costs.

3. Check the fee presets for the places you sell and edit them to match.

4. Price one product in detail on the Profit Calculator.

5. Add every product to the Product Catalog with expected sales per month.

6. See the month on the Monthly Profit Plan and the Dashboard.

Cream cells are the ones you fill in; everything else is calculated. Amounts work with any currency. No macros.

A NOTE ON FEES

Marketplace and payment fees change often. The presets are a starting point only, so check each platform's current fee page and update the cells before you rely on the numbers.

WORKS WITH EXCEL & GOOGLE SHEETS

Excel: download the ZIP, open the blank .xlsx and start on the Settings tab (Excel 2016 or later, including Microsoft 365).

Google Sheets: upload the .xlsx to Google Drive and open it with Google Sheets, or use File > Import > Upload.

Keep the EXAMPLE file as a filled reference; work in the blank file.
