SKILL LEVEL

Advanced Beginner - Crocheters looking to follow this pattern should know how to:

• Read a crochet pattern - There is NOT a video tutorial for this crochet pattern
• Work the basic stitches: Chain, single crochet, half double crochet and slip stitch
• Work in spiral (continuous) rounds
• Spiked Single Crochet or be willing to learn
• Create chain spaces and work into them
• Crochet holding 2 strands together.

This is NOT a beginner pattern! If you're only just learning to crochet, this crochet pattern will be outside of your skill level.

PATTERN INCLUDES

1. A PDF with step-by-step photo tutorials for the special stitches and step-by-step through the entire bag to help you feel confident following this pattern. The photo tutorial steps are written in full sentences, not short hand, to help you through. Dots and arrows on the photos help with stitch placement.
2. Printer friendly PDF with no photo tutorials to save ink.

SIZE

Finished bag is approximately 6.5 inches wide and 7 inches long, not including the strap.

I purchased an adjustable strap that can go up to 47 inches, so this bag can be used as a cross body bag.

YARN REQUIRED

You will need DK (3 - Light) weight cotton yarn of your choice. You will need to hold two strands together while crocheting the entirety of this crochet crossbody bag. You will need approximately 3.35 ounces/95 grams/233 yards.

Yarn Used:  We Crochet's Cotlin in colorway Linen.

If you alter the pattern in any way, your yarn usage will be different than listed.

Additional Required Materials:

• 1.5 inch Toggle Button (or any large button for the loop closure)
• I chose a toggle button because it was the easiest to wrap the loop around and gave the bag a nice bit of personality. You certainly don't have to use a toggle button but you will want to make sure the button you choose is large enough and has enough height for the closing loop to go over.
• Strap with Lobster clasps
• I purchased an adjustable 47 inch strap. Alternatively, you can crochet your own strap, if you like! I personally liked the look of the faux leather strap with this crochet bag pattern.

TOOLS 

• 5 mm (H-8) hook 
• Tapestry needle
• Scissors
• Stitch Markers (at least one to mark your place in the spiral rounds)
