Welcome to Krokbragd weaving!

Krokbragd is a Scandinavian weaving technique that gives as result thick, compact and multicolored textiles. Scandinavian women used to wove rugs, blankets and tapestries with this technique, among other homely textiles for the daily life. I always say that Krokbragd is like the fair isle knitting technique but for looms.

It's very interesting because with the same sequence that always repeats itself, by just changing colours you can create an unlimited variety of designs. It's magical and really impressive!

If this is your first time weaving with this technique, let me give you a huge welcome to a world in which, I think, you’ll discover a whole new facet of weaving in a creative, joyful and wholesome way.

If you are already a Krokbragd weaver, you might already know by now how special and magical the technique is.

Volume II of Krokbragd weaving has all Volume I instructions but more and better, this is, I've made a lot of changes and improvements not only in drafting, but in adding content and details that Volume I doesn't have, plus some design upgrades for better reading and making the ebook more appealing :)

Who are these ebooks oriented to?

These ebooks are oriented to weavers who already have a basic knowledge about frame loom (how to warp it, how to tabby weave, extract textile from loom, basic terms such as warp, weft, beat, etc.). Nevertheless, both ebooks include a beginners learning resources list of my Youtube video tutorials that are free to watch (audio en Spanish, subtitles in English).

-

Are these motifs designed to weave on a rigid heddle loom?

All motifs are designed as grids to weave row by row and don't include explanations of how to set the threading, treadling or any other rigid heddle loom setting content. However, you can weave these motifs as long as you take the time to adapt them but I must say this is up to you.
