Krokbragd Ebook VOLUME II: Simple & Double Krokbragd weaving +200 motifs pack to mix and match for frame loom
Welcome to Volume II of Krokbragd weaving: the ebook you didn't know you were waiting for.
After almost seven months of hardworking this huge baby of Scandinavian weaving is finally born. I’ve never imagined to be making a second volume after giving the technique a try just a few years ago, in 2020. At first, the making of a single pattern, then creating from scratch a motifs collection, a couple booklets, then a first ebook with 136 motifs plus different pattern projects (Volume I), and now a second ebook including 203 motifs which gives us a total of 339 motifs to blow our minds and keep telling stories in our looms.
Can you see how delighted I am as a weaver?
If this is your first time weaving with this technique, let me give you a huge welcome to a world in which, I think, you’ll discover a whole new facet of weaving in a creative, joyful and wholesome way.
If you are already a Krokbragd weaver, you might already know by now how special and magical the technique is.
This ebook is a downloadable PDF of 270 pages to read on any device (computer, tablet, smartphone) that includes a pack of 203 different motifs to mix and match, and weave on a frame loom.
In this new volume, besides Simple Krokbragd sequence I'm introducing another sequence to make more complex motifs: Double Krokbragd. So this ebook is a blend of both and you'll find that some of the motifs are designed in both versions.

What is Krokbragd?
Krokbragd is a Scandinavian weaving technique that gives as result thick, compact and multicolored textiles. Scandinavian women used to wove rugs, blankets and tapestries with this technique, among other homely textiles for the daily life. I always say that Krokbragd is like the fair isle knitting technique but for looms.
It's very interesting because with the same sequence that always repeats itself, by just changing colours you can create an unlimited variety of designs. It's magical and really impressive!

Who is this ebook oriented to?
It's oriented to weavers who already have a basic knowledge about frame loom (how to warp it, how to tabby weave, extract textile from loom, basic terms such as warp, weft, beat, etc.). Nevertheless, I've added a beginners learning resources list that includes several Youtube video tutorials that are free to watch (audio en Spanish, subtitles in English).
-
What are the main differences between Krokbragd weaving Volume I and II?
- Motifs (136 | 203)
- Pattern projects (4 | 0)
- Sequences (Simple | Simple & Double)
- Type of motifs (Figurative and abstract | Main focus on Figurative)
- Figurative categories (5 | 9)
-
Are these motifs designed to weave on a rigid heddle loom?
No, all motifs are designed as grids to weave row by row and don't include explanations of how to set the threading, treadling or any other rigid heddle loom setting content. However, you can weave these motifs as long as you take the time to adapt them but I must say this is up to you.
