Starting the Leg-Yield
STARTING THE LEG-YIELD
Leg-yielding is an excellent way to start to develop lateral work with your horse. This lesson focuses on some specific exercises at Prelim/Novice level to help you develop a correct and accurate leg-yield. Although leg-yielding is not introduced in dressage tests until Elementary level, the lesson will help you to learn the basics of moving your horse away from your leg.
Your trainer for this lesson is Kim Ratcliffe, a British Dressage trainer and List 1 Dressage Judge.
This session is 19 minutes and 30 seconds in length, and is designed to be listened to whilst you are riding your horse. You should ensure that you and your horse are warmed up before starting this lesson. Lessons are optimised for use in a 20m x 40m arena.
