Starting the Simple Changes
STARTING THE SIMPLE CHANGES
A simple change of leg is a movement designed to be a starting point towards teaching flying changes and helps in preparation for the collection of the canter. Therefore you'll work mainly in the canter in this lesson, focusing on exercises to supple and strengthen the canter, building up to canter - walk - canter transitions and finally the simple change of leg.
Your trainer for this lesson is Kim Ratcliffe, a British Dressage trainer and List 1 Dressage Judge.
This session is 20 minutes and 40 seconds in length, and is designed to be listened to whilst you are riding your horse. You should ensure that you and your horse are warmed up before starting this lesson. Lessons are optimised for use in a 20m x 40m arena.
