Intro to Walk Pirouettes
INTRO TO WALK PIROUETTES
This lesson focuses on exercises that will help you to develop better walk pirouettes, by using lengthening and shortening in trot and canter, shoulder-in and travers on a circle and finally practicing the quarter pirouette in walk. The half pirouette in walk is introduced in tests at Medium level. The exercises in this lesson are designed for Elementary to Medium level (or top-end Novice) to develop both the longitudinal & lateral suppleness and strength of the horse, and also to help you understand the aids you need.
Your trainer for this lesson is Kim Ratcliffe, a British Dressage trainer and List 1 Dressage Judge.
This session is 29 minutes and 49 seconds in length, and is designed to be listened to whilst you are riding your horse. You should ensure that you and your horse are warmed up before starting this lesson. Lessons are optimised for use in a 20m x 40m arena.
