Tomkins Verse
An arrangement for brass quintet of a 4-part contrapuntal organ piece by late Renaissance English composer Thomas Tomkins.
Duration c. 2 mins
Information
Thomas Tomkins was one of the later composers of the Renaissance era of music in England. He was both Organist of Worcester Cathedral and a Gentleman of the Chapel Royal, and produced much keyboard, consort and choral music.
This arrangement redistributes the 4-part contrapuntal texture among the five players of a brass quintet. This allows for different colour combinations, as well as giving the players a breather!
