Baby Brown [Associated Transcription session]

Here's a transcription of Fats' piano playing from the Associated Transcription version of Baby Brown in 1935 with "Rhythm" clarinettist, Rudy Powell.

Fats doesn't "solo" in this track per se but his piano accompaniment is splendid stride with much to learn and enjoy.

Fats debuted this tune by his friend Alex Hill via his Victor recording with His Rhythm only a few months earlier (refer to my previous Baby Brown transcription). It's interesting to note how much more bluesy his piano riffs have become since that recording.

A bit of "note guessing" was required here due to poor sound balance.

This is another "hybrid" video where my digital transcription is merged with the original recording so you can hear Fats' playing in context.
