Deep blue seas and dark starry nights. Black lava rock and obsidian. Ochre and lush greens. Clear waters and a coast full of coves and breathtaking views. This is Pantelleria, an island in the Strait of Sicily, also known as the Black Pearl of the Mediterranean for its lava rocks.

The Ossidiana scarf / stole is named after obsidian rock, a naturally occurring volcanic glass that can be found on the island. The scarf / stole features a wavy lace pattern that echoes the meandering coastal rocks. Worked in at least two colors for maximum effect, the Ossidiana scarf is a perfect stashbuster. And if you are after indulging in a pure squishy luxury, work Ossidiana as a stole version and wrap yourself in style!

The Niká shawl and the Ossidiana scarf / stole are designed to complement each other. Most probably, you won't wear them together ;-) but you can knit the shawl and use the remaining yarn to knit a small scarf. If you'd rather knit a long scarf or a stole, that's totally fine too! Check the yarn estimations on the pattern pages. Both patterns are customizable to let you knit them the size you want.
