Downloadable PDF knitting pattern.
Wild Red Rose is made in a classic rectangular shape, narrow and long, to wear it as a scarf. It is knit in a fine weight yarn with a loose gauge, which is suitable for warmer seasons. The pattern incorporates some advanced knitting techniques such as a provisional cast on, picots and a picot bind-off.
The reversible openwork stitch pattern used in this design is made by combining the rib stitch and eyelet stitch patterns in one; and an overall wave pattern is done by alternating the right leaning and left leaning columns of the rib/eyelet stitch patterns. The resulting fabric looks its best after wet blocking with pins, which is essential in making an airy and light open fabric.
This pattern is suitable for intermediate level knitter.
Techniques used in this design: yo, k2tog, ssk, provisional cast on, picots and picot bind off.
