Kkotji Silhouettes
There are times when watercolor just can’t capture the hues the way acrylic paint can, and so for this painting of a stunning sunset at Kkotji Beach in Taean, Chungnam Province, South Korea, I slathered the paint on thick and blended and blended and blended until the colors reflected what I felt were right. Speaking of reflections, the pink and yellow colorplay in the sand enchanted me the most about that evening, and how the sunset seemed so endless. Gathering at beaches to watch the sun go down is one of the many endearing time-honored Korean traditions. I normally don’t paint people but I couldn’t help it this time. Enjoy a spectacular sunset any time day or night in your home or office space. It’s only a click away!
