The Tabernacle Made Simple
"And let them make me a sanctuary; that I may dwell among them" (Exodus 25:8). Fourteen chapters of the Bible are devoted to the tabernacle -- seven giving the pattern, seven describing the building. God does not waste words. When He lingers over a thing, we should linger there too.
The Tabernacle Made Simple is a Bible-first walk through the tabernacle, station by station: the pattern on the mount, the gate, the brazen altar, the laver, the candlestick, the table of shewbread, the altar of incense, the veil, the holy of holies, the ark and the mercy seat, the priests, and the glory that filled the house. Every curtain, every vessel, every offering is shown pointing to Christ, as Hebrews 8-9 teaches.
Explicitly Trinitarian: the Father who designed the tabernacle, Jesus Christ -- Son of God and Son of Man, Lord and Savior -- who fulfilled it as the true tabernacle, sacrifice, and High Priest, and the Holy Spirit who alone applies its meaning, breaks strongholds, and sets captives free. Every prayer is to the Father, through Jesus Christ, by the Holy Spirit.
Read one chapter a day. Enter by the gate. Stop at the altar. Wash at the laver. And let Him dwell.
