Your shop dashboard tells you how much you sold. Not why it moved.

You don't know how many customers come back, or which products pull each other along. So when a month dips, you guess: the weather, the news, a slow week. And a pair that sells together, or a customer about to come back, sits there unnoticed.

Kitson Shop Sales Review turns your own orders export into a monthly review you can read in a few minutes:

  • The app works out every number on your computer, in code: sales after discounts and refunds, orders, average order, new and returning customers, your repeat rate, who came back month by month (cohorts), customer segments (regulars, regulars gone quiet, second-time buyers), products bought together, your busiest days and hours, and the month against last month and the same month last year.
  • It explains the caveats that go with each figure: a part month, small numbers, a stretch with no orders, a short month. A big jump with a caveat is not a trend, and the app says so.
  • Then Claude Opus 5.5 writes a plain-English review letter, a note on every key figure, and three small experiments for next month, each with a way to measure it when you run the review again.
  • Add a subscription or billing export and it covers the recurring side too: monthly recurring revenue, churn and payments that did not go through. Add your product costs and ad spend for an estimate of gross profit and ad spend per new customer.

What makes it different

  • Every figure comes from code on your computer, from your own orders. The AI only writes the words.
  • Only totals and patterns are sent to Anthropic. No customer's name, email address, phone number, address, customer code or individual order is ever sent. You can see exactly what will be sent before anything goes.
  • Every number in the letter, the notes and the experiments is checked in code against the app's own figures. Growth promises, pressure, fake urgency, "was $X" prices and customer-level detail are caught; the app asks once for a reword, and a letter that still fails is marked "Do not use as written".
  • Experiments stay honest: a thank-you is a service message, and anything promotional goes only to customers who agreed to marketing, with an unsubscribe line.
  • The cost is shown before every run, and you set a limit. In our own test on a made-up shop, one monthly review cost about 15 cents on our own Anthropic account.
  • Take it with you: a Word review (the letter, the experiments and every table), every table in Excel, and a segments CSV with totals only (no personal data).

What you need

  • Free Node.js 18+ (Windows, Mac or Linux).
  • Your own Anthropic account and API key, with a little credit. A Claude chat subscription does not include API access.
  • Your orders export as a CSV (Shopify, Etsy, WooCommerce, Square, Stripe or a spreadsheet), or use the made-up sample in the zip to try it first.

You pay Anthropic directly for what you use, on top of the price of the app.
