BABOUSCKA
Babouscka is a legendary figure in Russian folklore, often depicted as an elderly woman who, in this story, missed the opportunity to accompany the Three Kings on their journey to find the newborn Christ Child. Regretful and sorrowful, she now spends her days wandering through villages and towns during Christmas time, searching for the Child she missed so long ago. Despite her old age and frailty, she visits children, leaving small gifts in hopes of finding the Christ Child among them. Babouscka represents the enduring quest for redemption and the longing to find meaning in her solitary existence, forever seeking the chance to meet the Child she once missed.
