Sell your courses on Payhip!
With the new course feature being released today, you’ll have the ability to offer the best learning experience online to your students with the expected ease that Payhip brings.
We have everything you need to bring your course to life.
- Build a beautiful course page
- Add lessons such as videos, text, quizzes, downloads, surveys, assignments and embeds to your course
- Track student progress
- Video hosting included or use your own
- Drip your course to your students at a schedule of your choosing
- Video analytics
- …and a ton more features!
As usual you’ll have a beautiful highly converting checkout flow to sell your courses.
There is no added cost to using the new course product type, pricing has not changed. You can add lessons such as text, quizzes, downloads, surveys, assignments and embeds on the free plan. Please note, you don’t need to pay us a cent if you create an embed lesson and embed your videos from YouTube/Vimeo/Wistia etc.
We are here to help you grow your sales and we are building an all in one platform to help you do that.
If you haven’t already signed up with Payhip get started and sell your online course with ease!

This is great news! I’m currently designing a course and love that I can host and sell via payhip now. Thank you!
Thank you, we’re just in time! 🙂
I was thinking exactly the same as Maddie… I’m planning to release a video course or two in the coming weeks, so this is timely. Lovely to see Payhip go from strength-to-strength 🙂
Thank you Jas! I’m surprised how we’ve managed to nail the timing! 🙂
Exactly what I was looking for to help educate my subscribers.
Fantastic work Payhip.
Many thanks!
Thank you Rob 🙂
That could really simplify some plans for me
🤩👏👏👏
Great feature!!!
LORDDDDDDDDDP i LOVE IT! Question, how can we implement courses into our memberships that we’ve also created on Payhip?
Thank you Dana! 🙂
And great question. At the moment the courses themselves have multiple payment options. So you can charge for them on a recurring basis. But this will be separate to the existing membership that you have created.
A good idea might be to provide a 100% off coupon for existing subscribers on your membership who signup to your course. This way they’ll continue to be charged for memberships, but won’t be charged for using the new course system. They will have to create a new course student account though, apologies for that hassle.
sounds good —thank you
I love this!! Thank you so much.
You are most welcome! 🙂
The fact that I am actually recording a ig reels course and was looking for a platform. R
Our timing today has been astronomical!
Wow this is fantastic! I absolutely love Payhip and plan to do a review on this. You guys are amazing.
Thank you Kimberly for the kind words! 🙏
Great new feature…! Very good. Thank you…!
I LOVED this platform before and you all adding this feature that’s still mostly free ($9 is such a STEAL!) is incredible! I love recommending this platform and now I can tell all my coaches to join (video hosting being the previous limitation here)! It makes me want to make a course just because! Thank you!
Thank you so much for the kind words and spreading the word about Payhip. We appreciate it! 🙏
I’m sure we’ll be putting together a course ourselves!
I have a course I’m considering moving here from another platform. It’s not a video course; it’s a series of written lessons with assignments attached. Will a text format be doable on your platform? And can I add an image instead of a video? Or is it designed to require a video in every lesson?
Hi Milli, there are no requirements to use video at all. You can have a completely text based course with images – we have a mini text editor so you can have the usual headings/bullets etc. You can also upload a file as a lesson.
Thank you, Abs, for your speedy reply. This is wonderful news. 🙂
Two more questions:
1. If I post an assignment type of lesson, will students be able to post their completed assignment on that same lesson as a reply? (rather than uploading a text file) For example, a 3,000-word story for a creative writing assignment? Or can students only post a comment with a much shorter word limit?
2. Can I import a course from another platform? (in this case, Kajabi)
Hi Milli, no worries! 🙂
Students can post comments on any type of lesson (such as assignment) if commenting is enabled, the max character limit for each comment is about 65K.
The commenting systems on lessons would be able to handle this approach, but not sure if it’s the best since all your students will see each others comments.
At the moment, we don’t have an import feature for any other platforms like Kajabi.
Thank you! 🙂 65K per comment. That’s phenomenal.
I’ve looked closely at every course platform out there and most of them focus solely on video teaching and assume students will not be posting written work. Plus, your pricing is so much more humane. And I can see by this comment section that you’re incredibly responsive to your customers. I’m so impressed. I’m stuck at Kajabi till my trademark application goes through but I’m hoping to move to Payhip in due course. Yay! Thanks for all that you do.
Does the 65K character count include spaces? (I looked up the average word count for 65K and spaces make a difference to the estimated word count.)
You’re welcome 🙂
It’s actually 65,535 characters but I didn’t want to brag!
Yay, I hope we can be useful for you in the near future! 🙂
Yes, spaces are included in that character count. 65K characters is about 10K words with spaces on the lowest prediction an estimator site I just checked – it’s likely more. However, we are more than happy to increase this limit if it is not enough for you as this is a good use case and the change is relatively easy for us to make!
Hi Abs, as the others are saying, this is great news. What happens to the content. Will it remain my property if I stop my school in several years? I’m keen to learn more. Thank you.
Hi Yvonne, thank you and yes the content will always be yours! It’s your creation so you certainly will own all the rights for years to come.
This is great news.
I just started uploading videos to Teachable for my new course.
How does Payhip compare to Teachable for course creation and payments from the customers? Is it the same?
Thanks Terry 🙂
Good question, but a tough one! I believe we are similar in our offerings when it comes to course creation. For payments, we support all major bank cards and PayPal. We also have a few choices for course payments such as a one time fee, subscription payments and a payment plan.
You guys are simply digital rockstars! 😎🎸⭐️
Do you ever take a break and realise what you have accomplished?
Thank you!
Keep rocking!
/Morten
Thank you Morten 🙏🤘😊
A good reminder that we should appreciate our efforts!
I love this platform and love how you all keep working to improve it !
So excited for this feature!!
Thank you for the kind words Angie! 🙂
Hi Abs! I am so excited about this new feature!! I’ve been working on setting up my first course on another platform. but being able to do it here would allow me to keep more things in one place. However, my first course is an audio course. Can I upload an audio course? If so, does the $9 hosting fee apply?
Thank you for everything!
Hi Nyisha! I’m glad you like the sound of our new course feature and thank you for the kind words!
Very interesting use case. On Payhip, you can upload an audio only video but we don’t have an audio player on its own. Perhaps you are happy with allowing students to download an MP3 file of each lesson? Not a perfect solution but this will result in no additional cost to you when using the course feature.
Hey 🙂
Love, love, love Payhip!
This is fantastic.
I’ve hit “reply” to this particular question about audio because I’m in the same boat.
I guess we could embed audio files from Google Drive? Would that work?
Also with the embed option, we could embed Google Slides.
Thank you so much for this 🙂
Hi Marie,
We’re happy to hear you’ve been loving your experience with Payhip so far! 🙂
For now, our embed options only support audio from SoundCloud and videos from YouTube, Streamable and a few others. We’ll be working on a better approach in the future where you can embed from any source. As this comes with security risks, it will take us time to work on this.
Great!!!! I can finally present my courses as they should 😍
The only problem I see is that we need the ability to assign custom URLs or offer the ability to embed courses on normal pages.
I do that to sell my courses and products with “ok” names: https://motionfx.es/curso-davinci-resolve-17
And it does not work with the courses right now.
But what a great new feature!
Hi Jesus, thank you for the kind words! 🙂
Great point, custom URLs is definitely still on our to do list. It’ll make a lot of things more accessible and it is a priority for us on the product roadmap!
Hi Jesus, I just wanted to let you know that we released an update today. You can now have custom product URLs! 🙂
For digital products, you can go to the edit page and find it under the “Advanced Options” section.
For courses, to edit the product URL, you’ll need to go to the “Manage” courses page and click on the “Settings” link.
Let me know what you think!
That’s amazing! Just as I was looking for a place to host my courses and bang! Payhip comes up trump’s! Thanks so much
Thank you for the kind words Steve! 🙂 We’ve done really well with the timing of this release today!
Wonderful news. Now I can sell my books and newly created courses in the one spot!
Thanks Vanessa! Hopefully, it makes things simpler 🙂
How does one host video lessons on YouTube, and sell them through Payhip but not have them publicly available on Youtube?
I’d like to sell courses but would like to avoid a perpetual hosting fee. As they won’t always sell.
Hi Nigel, to achieve this, you’ll need to set the privacy settings on the Youtube video as unlisted. This means the video will be hidden and can only be found by those that have a direct URL.
Sorry to post outside of our original thread (there was no reply button on that last post of yours). I just want to say a huge THANK YOU for (a) answering my detailed questions so patiently 🙂 and (b) stating a willingness to expand the character count for comments if I needed it. You guys ROCK!
I have put so many frustrating hours into finding a course platform that will give me what I need. I finally “settled” but there are too many technical issues and complications where I currently am. I just read in a testimonial that you even deal with the EU VAT. Wow. Does that mean you collect the tax for each European purchase and file the tax returns as Payhip?
One more question. I’m so excited about Payhip. You just put the roses back into my cheeks about my online course (which I’ve been neglecting because of the above-mentioned, which makes it too tedious to bear). So now I’d love to move my website here too. I realize courses and products can have their own sales page. What about building a website? Is that possible with Payhip?
You are so welcome Milli! 😊 And I’m so glad we’ve given you hope!
Yes, we collect EU VAT automatically and we file it under our company.
And yes, you can certainly build a website with Payhip, we released a store builder a few months ago that you can connect a custom domain to.
It’s worth looking at this page to see what we can do in terms of a building a website:
https://help.payhip.com/article/129-store-builder – In addition, right at the bottom, we’ve added a few examples of what others have produced with the store builder.
If you have the time, I would create a free Payhip account and press all the buttons with dummy data and really stress test it to see what what we can do. I can imagine a migration being a big job so give the tyres a good kick!
(P.S. I noticed a reply button was missing, I think we reached some sort of thread depth limit)
Haha! Not surprised we reach a thread depth limit with all my pesky questions. 🙂 It has been really fun corresponding with you, and thanks again for all your kindness in taking the time to answer my questions so thoroughly. This info makes such a HUGE difference to my decision process.
And that’s 1,000 times awesome about the store builder!!! Thanks for the link. I took a quick look at one example from the bottom of that tutorial of a store/website made with the store builder and it’s elegantly beautiful. My coaching website is on WordPress and I’d love to get the heck out of WordPress. This may be my much prayed-for solution.
Thanks, Abs. You have made my day in so many ways! 🙂 🙂 🙂
Oh thank you so much Milli 😊 😊 😊
I’m so glad I could be helpful and make a difference to your day!
I really appreciate these sorts of interactions. It really helps us learn what is important.
Feel free to reach out anytime you might have question!
I love this new feature. I wanted to see how I could add weekly worksheets to my blog.
Thank you Ranisha 🙂
Perhaps you can use the course feature to offer scheduled weekly lessons that include worksheets, this might work for you? Here is a little more info on this:
https://help.payhip.com/article/188-course-drip-content
This is great news. Congratulations.
Will the students be able to upload an assignment files? And if so, is there a size limit?
Will there be a final page where after the student’s assignments has been graded and pass, for them to download a certificate?
Tq
Thank you! 🙂
Yes students can submit assignments, the file size limit is 100MB. Once an assignment is submitted, you are able to approve it and the student can see this. However, we don’t have a way to issue certificates at the moment.
Excited about the capability to create and sell courses.
Brilliant! This was the missing piece for me, now this allows me to have everything that I will be creating and selling all under one roof!
Take a bow PAYHIP you rock my socks off …
Thank you John! 🙇🙂
I agree! The missing piece !
I LOVE Payhip! You guys are THE BEST! Thank you!!!!
Thank you for the kind words Amy! 🙂
Hello!!
Does your platform offer auto certificates after course completion?
Hi Paula! 🙂 At the moment, we don’t have certificates. But I’ll be sending your feedback to the team for us to consider! Thank you
Super excited about courses. But, I just created a sample one to see if I can offer by cros seling (or upgrading), from my current product, and it doesn’t seem that is possible. So this is still not a feature for courses?
Yes , unfortunately cross sells do not work for courses yet but they will soon! It is on our product roadmap. 🙂
I’d only just started uploading all my products to payhip a few days ago and was already super impressed and excited about it – and now this! Amazing, I’m really excited to explore the possibilities this opens up for serving my community better. I’m just really blown away with the level of customer service, simplicity, flexibility and good design that I’m finding all across Payhip, and I’ll be spreading the word for sure (and already have)!
Two features I’d love to see in the future:
– The possibility to let customers see and download previous purchases or freebies associated with their email address when they log onto a course, so they can have everything they’ve acquired from me all in one place.
– The possibility to combine a one time payment of a specified amount, followed by monthly payments of a different amount going forward. This would enable me to offer a “whole shop” bundle that includes future products as well, something I’ve always wanted to do but have not had the tech solution for.
Hi Alaina, thank you very much for your kind words and spreading the word about us! 🙂
Customer accounts are nearly there. By this I mean, customer accounts can see all the courses and coaching products they have previously purchased – but not their digital downloads. In the future, we will be adding digital downloads to that account area too.
The second feature is a great idea and we have had requests for this so it will eventually happen, it’s just that there a few other features in the queue in front of it! But it will get done eventually. 🙂
WOW, Game changer! I was just thinking how amazing this platform is and now you add more value, Thanks
Thank you for the kind words! 🙂
Amazing addition, Payhip just gets better and better! I am going to be moving my course over from Learnworlds to Payhip. And after the design fiasco that is (cough) GR (cough). Payhip is like a breath of fresh air. Thank you! I have my digital products to add and to think I can now add courses makes this a game changer.
Hi Nicky, thank you for the kind words! 🙏 I hope we can be useful for you and keep all your products in one neat place.
Great news guys! I absolutely love PayHip, made my life much easier already (so glad I found it a few months back) and this new function is soooo exciting, as so far I don’t like any of the other course platforms! I’ll go see immediately how it works 🙂
Thank you, Alice! So glad we’re making life easier! 🙂
Wow! I just enjoyed reading through all of these comments and my couple of questions have been answered. I know that I am a newbie, really, but so pleased to see so many people thrilled with PH like I am. Thanks for everything, Abs!
Thank you very much for the kind words Sandi! 😊
Hi Abs, that’s really great news, impressive how Payhip is evolving over time! 😎
One features I’d love to see in the (near 😁) future:
– The option to customize the menu bar in the mobile version of my website, which is very standardized right now and doesn’t really fit my overall website design.
Have a great day and keep up the great work!
(Here’s my payhip-website: https://thecreatorrmocs.com/)
Thank you for the kind words, Patrick! 🙂
You are right, at the moment the menu is pretty simple when it comes to customising it for mobile devices. I’ll pass this feedback on to the team. Hopefully, we can work on it in the near (!) future.
Excellent! I had a great time going over all of the responses. I know I’m a rookie, but it makes me happy to see so many individuals who are as enthusiastic about PayHip as I am. Thank you very much for these informative articles, stay safe always and God Bless Us All!!!
Hi. I would love to place my courses on pay hip. Can I use Payhip to convert presentations into modules to sell my courses as modules? I am not tech-savvy yet, so I am looking for an easy way to get my already completed presentation courses onto Payhip.
Thanks.
Hi Catherine 🙂 I think you can turn your presentation into a course. You can create the sections for the course in Payhip and then you can perhaps upload each slide as a lesson into each of the sections.
We have a very straightforward interface and it’s mostly point and click – with some typing!
You can create a free account and give it a go. If it gets too complicated, we’re happy to help, simply email us contact@payhip.com.
Hello I’m brand new to course, eBook, eventually want a subscription group in the near future. I have lots of animal, equine and human course ideas 😊 no idea on technology eek 😂
So to do email drip funnel etc, also cross sell and the plug in to go on my wordpress website wondering how much extra these would be!
Also can I offer course bundle discounts and certificates
I’m offering video and text courses so is it unlimited amount of videos I can add whilst creating my courses per month, if that makes sense.
I was just about to sign up to podia and I heard a lovely review about your Payhip, I’m just concerned about extra payments for needed add ons, I really don’t know what I’m doing with online products so sorry don’t mean to sound rude with 100 questions, I’m just excited to get this going 😂💖
Hi Sarah, thank you for your interest in Payhip and apologies for the delay!
So with our course, you get all the features that we offer for $9 p/m. However, we are missing a few features you mentioned: certificates and a WordPress Plugin.
The certificates feature is something we will be working on but we don’t have a plan to create a WordPress Plugin at the moment. Alternatively, you can connect a subdomain to your course page on Payhip to keep things on brand. I believe this is why you might want a plugin?
If you have any more questions, please email us contact@payhip.com – we can try and help with your specific setup and requirements! 😊
I have a question: The 29 USD PLUS plan says “includes all features” but to upload videos for a course you have to have an extra 9 USD fee for month. Is this included in the 29 USD Plus plan or not?
Hi 🙂 No, it’s not included in the Plus Plan or any of the other paid plans. The course feature has been included as an add-on with a price of $9 p/m.
The reason we did this is because video hosting/streaming is expensive. However, you have the option to use our course feature for free if you host your video elsewhere and embed it in. Then it’s free to use.
I hope the approach we have taken above makes sense. 🙂
Wow this is wonderful ,, we can create and sell courses and also
promote other peoples courses too right..
founders had done a wonderful thing its going to rock the world
i can see bright future for everyone here course creators and
affiliates along the way…
Hi Fredrick, thank you for the kind words! 🙂
Yes, you can sell courses and promote other courses too (if invited by the creator). We might open this up so that it’s public in future.
Can you add publit.io to your list of video platforms to support?
Hi 🙂 Yes, I believe we can add Publit. I’ve informed the dev team and they should add it to their next release soon.
“Video lessons have one simple fixed price of $5 per month.” This is not too clear. Do we pay $5 a month for each video lesson hosted by Payhip, per course hosted by Payhip, or for all courses offered through Payhip regardless of the total number of lessons and total number of videos? Can you please explain more clearly? Thanks.
Hi Ugur,
With this monthly plan, you would have up to 16 hours of video that you can upload on Payhip but this would be your overall limit. You only pay a monthly fee of $5 and be able to upload multiple videos (16 hours in total for all videos uploaded). If you think you will have a higher bandwidth consumption, then please send us a message at contact@payhip.com and we can arrange a custom plan for you. 🙂
I hope that clarifies things a bit, but you can learn more about it here: Video Subscription
I love the new course feature! I have one request. As I move clients over from another platform, I would love the ability to add them to the course without them having to sign-up. How can I manually add clients to published yet unlisted courses?
Hi Ramonica,
While we don’t have an easy way to migrate clients over, I believe the easiest approach would be creating coupon codes. You can create a 100% off coupon code for them – this would mean that your existing clients who have fully paid already can get access to your Payhip course without paying again. You can learn more about that here: Coupons
If it’s an ongoing subscription where your clients have to pay a monthly fee to access the course, then it would be best if they sign up themselves since they need to add their payment details so we could process/execute the recurring payments on your store.
I’m new to PayHip, but this sounds awesome! Very excited!
How about my domain link
Hi Joe,
Are you looking to connect your existing domain/website to Payhip? Our Custom Domain feature allows you to connect your domain to Payhip. This allows all pages of your Payhip store to be shown under your own domain. We have created a help article about it with step-by-step instructions here: Custom Domain
Hello,
I just noticed that you added the certificates of completion feature for courses. It’s interesting. However, could you not also integrate the option to add the signature of the director and the trainer at the bottom of these?
For the courses, if we would like people to take them for free, however if they want to get a certificate of completion they have to pay a fee. Is there an option for this?
Hi Prosper,
Thank you for sharing your feedback! These are great ideas and I’m more than happy to pass on to our product team so that they can keep them in mind for future product development. I don’t have an ETA for you on when we might release such features but please do keep an eye out for our updates/releases!
I created an entire course and when people go yo checkout and put credit card information in on Payhip it results in a yellow box. I even attempted to do it on my own and check out and it results in a yellow box and does not make the purchase. However, my digital products work. Can I please get some assistance?
Hi Kira,
We’re happy to assist you with this – can you send us a screenshot of that yellow box and let us know which product, in particular, are you having issues with when checking out? We just attempted to check out but didn’t see any errors during the process. We reply faster via email so it would be best if you can send this information to contact@payhip.com.
I am very excited about this platform! I am looking to establish a coaching course that’s a bit interactive. Is there a way for clients to submit/ upload files for me to review and respond back to within Payhip Courses?
Hi Nicole, I’m glad you’re liking Payhip so far! 🙂
For courses, we have a commenting feature where students can share links to files but we don’t a have way to allow uploads. But for our coaching feature, it has the ability to upload files from clients. I mention this as you mentioned a “coaching course”.
Great stuff.
Re videos is that 5usd per video or in total? Also you say 16 hours up loaded, so does that mean only the video I upload to the platform in that month is counted OR the total video being stored ON the the platform?
Thanks
Hi Simon, you would have up to 16 hours of video (total) that you can upload on Payhip and pay a monthly fee of 5 USD. If you will have a higher bandwidth consumption, we can definitely arrange a custom plan for you. 🙂
What about of we run a site with other teachers. I run the platform and I have multiple teachers. If i brought it to Payhip, would we be able to let the teachers answer comments on their own courses. Additionally profit split within the site before it hits stripe etc would be good.
Thanks, Simon! We’ll definitely be keeping that in mind. Another good way to split revenue is to join our Partner Program which is a fantastic opportunity for educators to monetize their work and reach a wider audience. Not only that, you will not only receive a generous 50% commission on every sale that you refer to Payhip, but you will also have access to several exclusive benefits. 🙂
