About Me
Hi, I’m Chantal. I'm a South African living in the Netherlands, where I work in marketing by day and write about whatever my ADHD brain has decided to hyperfixate on in my spare time.
Which explains the slightly chaotic bookshelf.
I’ve written fiction about a lion tamer and an existentially confused zombie, a dating journal inspired by an unreasonable number of first dates, a practical guide to burnout recovery, and a book explaining sex and gender as if you’re eight.
They’re quite different books, but most of them come back to the same thing: human behaviour. I’m endlessly fascinated by why we think the way we think, why we love the people we love, why our brains and bodies behave as they do, and why humans are generally so wonderfully weird.
Then there’s the low-carb cookbook. That was a hyperfixation I had one weekend. We don’t need to analyse it ;)
I write the kind of books I’d want to find when I’m obsessively Googling something at 11 p.m.: interesting, easy to understand, useful and with enough humour that it doesn’t feel like homework.
Have a browse. There’s no telling what I’ll become obsessed with next.
