From Parties to Fundraisers: The Secret Power of Event Tarot Readings

You've booked the venue, finalized the menu, and sorted the playlist. But something's missing.

You're not just planning an event; you're crafting an experience. You need that unforgettable element that transforms polite chatter into genuine connection and has guests raving long after they say goodbye.

That ultimate entertainment vendor? An event Tarot reader.

Why Hire a Tarot Reader?

Solve the "Awkward Mingling" Problem: Nothing gets guests talking to each other like personalized Tarot readings. Small talk is boring and can scare away modern party-goers. But people who just came from the Tarot reader’s table? Oh! They’ve got stories to share!

Even a short 1-3 card reading can be enough to spark conversations. Guests may even find themselves going back for more just to add to the conversation!

Generate Organic Social Buzz: Once the readings start, they seldom stop! Party-goers find that they’re drawn in and want to get a reading of their own. They’ll be snapping pictures of their cards and talking about your event online, giving you free, authentic marketing.

Ensure 100% Guest Inclusion: Unlike a photo booth or dance floor, a Tarot table is welcoming to everyone. It doesn’t matter if guests are serious or laid back, friendly or grumpy, true believers or staunch critics. A professional event Tarot reader can handle any crowd, establishing and respecting healthy boundaries, and ensuring that everyone gets a fair turn and something special from their time at the table.

Make sure none of your guests get left out when you book an event Tarot reader!

When to Hire an Event Tarot Reader

Not sure if Tarot fits your event? Here’s where it shines:

  • Private Celebrations: Add a touch of magic to birthdays, bachelorette parties, wedding weekend activities, and anniversaries. Tarot readers make a great add-on for celebration parties. Whether you’re celebrating another year on Earth, major life transitions, or just looking to add a little magic to an already special party, adding Tarot readings brings extra joy to the gathering.
  • Campus & Student Events: Elevate sorority/fraternity socials, club fundraisers, and student orientation events with an activity that fosters connection and introspection. Tarot booths are a fantastic addition to any campus events. No matter the crowd, Tarot readers bring memorable experiences to the event.
  • Corporate Gatherings: “Break the ice” at company retreats, holiday parties, and team-building events with a professional, engaging, and utterly unique alternative to the standard fare. Let a Tarot reader do the heavy lifting of engaging your staff for you! Event readers can keep things professional while also dialing up the fun.
  • Fundraisers & Galas: Offer a coveted experience that encourages guests to linger and donate. Tarot booths provide a unique attraction to any fundraising event. They’re known to attract a crowd and keep guests talking about your cause long after the event ends. Some Tarot readers–like me–will even offer their services at a reduced or donation-based price to encourage attendees to put more money toward your efforts.
  • Pop-Ups & Markets: Drive foot traffic and keep shoppers engaged at your street fair, vendor market, or wellness pop-up. A Tarot booth creates a compelling reason to visit and stay at your stall.

Business been a bit slow?

Need something to draw customers in again? Hire a Tarot reader to set up shop in store or out-front to draw a crowd your way! Experienced Tarot readers are no strangers to one-time and business-focused needs. A true pro sees the value in full community success.

What to Look for in a Professional Event Tarot Reader

Reading Style: Do you want quick, private 1-on-1 readings for many guests, or a larger group reading to captivate the whole audience? Typically, one-on-one readings will be short to accommodate many guests, while group-based readings are an event in themselves. Some readers may keep the one-on-one readings private, while others may do one-on-one readings for a small group as a Tarot reading party.

Deck Selection: A seasoned reader brings appropriate decks. For events, Tarot readers typically do quick, light readings. Some event Tarot readers avoid bringing cards with ominous imagery (e.g. the Death card) for light events, while others will make use of playful or themed decks that match your vibe.

Some Tarot readers choose their decks, bringing with them only one or two catered to the event. Whereas others, like myself, like to bring a variety and allow guests to choose the deck they feel drawn to.

Emphasis: Some readers go all out as entertainers. They’ll have elaborate costumes, accessories, decorations, and more. Others may tone the theatrics down, choosing to emphasize the Tarot readings and intuitive messages instead. The readings themselves may be aimed at a grounded, down-to-earth vibe. Or they could be introspective, empowering, or just plain fun.

Adapting to your needs: The best event Tarot readers can “read the room” and will adjust as needed for both the event goals and the needs of the guests. Remaining flexible is the hallmark of a professional reader.

Professionalism is Paramount: Your reader should be self-sufficient (bringing their own table, chairs, setup when requested), insured (if necessary), and adept at managing time and energy with grace. They are a vendor, not a guest.
