Terms and Conditions
Effective date: October 14, 2026
These Terms and Conditions apply to your use of the Kitchen Reno Companion store and your purchase or use of Your Kitchen Renovation Companion. The store and guide are operated and published by Ian Murray under the name Kitchen Reno Companion in Nova Scotia, Canada.
By purchasing or using the guide, you agree to these Terms and Conditions.
Digital product
Your Kitchen Renovation Companion is a digital educational guide. No physical book will be shipped unless a product description expressly states otherwise.
After successful payment, you will receive access to a download page and an email receipt containing a download link. You are responsible for providing an accurate email address and retaining your receipt.
Personal-use license
Your purchase gives you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to download and use the guide for your own personal, non-commercial purposes.
You may not reproduce, upload, share, sell, sublicense, distribute or make the guide available to others, whether in full or in part. You may not remove copyright notices or use the guide to create a competing product.
Members of the same household may consult one purchased copy for the household’s own kitchen-renovation planning.
Pricing, payment and taxes
Prices are displayed in the currency shown at checkout. Applicable taxes may be added or included as indicated during checkout.
Payments are processed securely by third-party payment providers such as Stripe or PayPal. Kitchen Reno Companion does not receive or store your complete payment-card information.
Refunds
Purchases are subject to the Refund Policy displayed on this store. Because the product is delivered digitally, sales are generally final after access has been provided, except for qualifying technical issues, duplicate charges or circumstances in which a refund is required by law.
Educational information—not professional advice
The guide provides general educational information based on the author’s experience in kitchen design and site measuring. It is not a substitute for advice specific to your property from a qualified kitchen designer, contractor, architect, engineer, electrician, plumber, building official or other licensed professional.
Building codes, electrical requirements, plumbing requirements, product specifications and accepted construction practices vary by location and may change. Always confirm requirements with qualified local professionals and the authorities having jurisdiction before making purchasing, construction or installation decisions.
Accuracy and results
Reasonable care has been taken in preparing the guide. However, every home, renovation and local requirement is different. Kitchen Reno Companion does not guarantee that every example or recommendation will apply to your project or that following the guide will produce a particular result.
You remain responsible for your decisions, contracts, measurements, purchases, budgets and selection of professionals.
Intellectual property
The guide, store content, original illustrations, written material, branding and related resources are protected by copyright and other intellectual-property laws. All rights not expressly granted in these Terms are reserved.
Prohibited use
You may not use the store or product:
• For unlawful or fraudulent purposes.
• To infringe another person’s rights.
• To distribute malicious software or interfere with the store.
• To reproduce, resell or publicly distribute the guide without written permission.
Third-party services and links
The store may use or link to services operated by Payhip, Stripe, PayPal, Instagram or other third parties. Their services are governed by their own terms and privacy practices. Kitchen Reno Companion is not responsible for the availability or operation of third-party platforms.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Kitchen Reno Companion and Ian Murray will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss arising from the use of, or reliance upon, the guide.
Where liability cannot legally be excluded, the maximum liability relating to a purchase will not exceed the amount paid for that purchase.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Changes and updates
The guide and these Terms may be corrected or updated periodically. Purchasing a version of the guide does not guarantee access to every future edition, separate product or substantially expanded version unless expressly stated.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Nova Scotia and the applicable federal laws of Canada, without limiting any mandatory consumer rights that may apply in the purchaser’s location.
