There are moments as a dog mom where you’re just filled with pride. Taking my magnificent Labrador, Max, to the Hollywood Walk of Fame, I was sure this was one of those moments. Just look at this gentleman! The sunglasses, the gleaming coat, the casual swagger. This dog was born for fame.

The search began. With the seriousness of an art critic at a gallery opening, he sniffed every star—from Spielberg to Streisand. The tension was palpable! I could already picture him leaving his paw prints in the wet cement.
Then came the moment of truth. He couldn't find his star.

The disappointment in his eyes was almost too much to bear. For a brief moment, there was silence. The glittering stars now seemed to mock him. But what does a true artist do when the establishment fails to recognize his genius?
He becomes a critic.
With a determination I'd never seen in him before, he turned away. His target? A pristine, bright red fire hydrant. A monument of public infrastructure. His stage.
What followed was the most direct, unambiguous, and liquid art critique Hollywood has ever witnessed.

In that moment, as my dog was delivering his "1-star review," there was only one thing I could do: shoot a look at the camera that said, "I don't know this dog. We did not come here together."
His "Method Peeing" was the grand finale. A performance so dedicated, you'd almost believe it was a real acting technique. (A note to all aspiring canine thespians: Method Peeing is NOT an approved acting technique!)

In the end, he stood there, infinitely proud of himself, while I was left wondering if we'd ever be allowed back in Los Angeles.
The Moral of the Story:
When life doesn't give you lemons, make lemonade. When Hollywood doesn't give you a star, leave your own liquid feedback. It's a lesson in proactive entrepreneurship, taught to me by Max.
