Most spreadsheet templates are made for the US or UK, then you're left to work out GST yourself. These are built around how Australian small businesses actually run.
What you get (10 spreadsheet files plus the guide):
- Bookkeeping. Money in and out, GST worked out at one eleventh, and your Simpler BAS figures (G1, 1A and 1B, cash basis) for each quarter with the ATO due dates. Month, quarter, financial year and 5-year views. Car km log using the ATO cents per km method (with the 5,000 km cap), a tax savings tracker, and a $75,000 GST threshold check.
- Service Business Tracker. Clients, bookings, invoices, part payments and who owes you. A tax invoice that fills itself in, and won't call itself a tax invoice until your business name, ABN and date are there.
- Product Business Tracker. Products, materials and recipes, stock and reorder alerts, retail and wholesale customers, orders and a tax invoice.
- Bills Calendar. Every regular bill, subscription, loan, BAS payment and income on a monthly calendar, with your running balance and your lowest point in the month.
- Pricing Calculator. Your real cost per item (materials, your time and running costs), five ways to price, platform fees and GST, and price lists for customers and stockists.
- Toolkit Guide (PDF). Step-by-step set-up for each spreadsheet, a simple money routine, Aussie money dates, five AI prompts to pair with your numbers, and how to stay safe with AI.
Every spreadsheet comes twice: an EXAMPLE file with made-up data so you can see how it works, and a blank file for your business.
Who it's for: sole traders and small business owners in Australia who want tidy records without paying for software every month. No spreadsheet skills needed, just about ten minutes a week once it's set up.
Works in: Excel 2016 or newer (Windows and Mac) and Google Sheets (free). Not recommended for Apple Numbers.
Please note:
- This is a record-keeping tool, not tax, legal or financial advice. Rules and rates change, so check ato.gov.au or ask your accountant or BAS agent before you lodge anything.
- The BAS figures use the cash basis and cover G1, 1A and 1B only. They don't cover wages (W1, W2), PAYG instalments or the accruals basis.
- This is a digital download. Nothing is posted.
Refunds: Because these are digital files, we don't offer refunds if you simply change your mind. This doesn't affect your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. If a file is faulty, doesn't match its description, or doesn't work as described in Excel 2016 or newer or Google Sheets, contact us through regulationcollective.com. If there's a major problem, you can choose a replacement or a refund. For a minor problem, we'll fix it quickly.
