About Me

Welcome Everybody!

I've never had to do one of these before so bear with me...

Bio

Pronouns: She/her.

Hello, I'm Nessa, a disabled knitwear designer who's self taught through working in the industry for over 14 years (you pick up valuable information along the way haha).

I've always been interested in clothes and making clothing as a child, but I always pursued a path in art & fine art at School, College and University. At university I had a lapse in mental health and fell out of love with my art but it pushed me in a new direction of knitting and other crafty pursuits.

Since then I've embraced this new love and even gained myself a career in the field of Knitwear Design and Pattern Writing. I'm a very multicraftual and love dabbling in knitting, cross stitch, sewing, quilting, embroidery, crochet and spinning and after many years my love of painting has even come back to me.

I have a huge passion for creating and making which has been my whole life since a very young age when my grandad used to influence me into the arts and crafts world.

Well done Grandad!

Values

I've never written a statement on a shop front before but I am happy to share that my values are inclusive and mindful of all people including those of all different races, genders, disabilities and sizes.

I embrace all peeps in my spaces and I'm happy to see anyone & everyone share the same joy I have for making. All are welcome and If you don't agree with that, then this is your issue not mine.

I also believe highly in mending, reusing and repurposing so make sure you help your handmade pieces live on.

Thank you all for shopping with me and taking the time to visit my store please follow here and all the other avenues for more updates.

Edge of Dijon Socks
Some of you may remember late last year 2020 reading on my IG about another designer having developed a pattern very similar to my own 'Edge of Dijon' socks which I'd originally released back in 2014. This designer was charging for that design/patter...
