Sensory Capacity Check-In

If “When Loud Things Feel Too Loud” felt familiar, this short check-in gives you a space to notice what's actually asking so much of you right now.

There is often more going on beneath a feeling of overwhelm than the noise itself. The Sensory Capacity Check-In offers a short, honour-framed space to notice what's loud, what it's asking of you, and what might ease it, even a little.

Rather than treating overwhelm as something to push through, this worksheet invites a pause to notice what your body is telling you and what one small thing might help right now. It draws on the understanding that a nervous system that notices more will always tire more quickly in a demanding moment, and that this is cause and effect, not weakness.

This is not a worksheet about coping better. It is an invitation to meet overwhelm with recognition rather than self-criticism.
