Introducing the Going Places Crossbody Bag!

This is a digital sewing pattern for a Medium sized crossbody bag with clear vinyl outside pockets - great for displaying make-up products, essential oils, or for holding face masks separate from the contents of the bag.

If you’re going places but your lip color isn’t, this is the bag for you! With this display bag, you can tell people all about your LipSense (or any other small product that you sell) without saying a word! Originally designed for the direct sales consultant who wants a cross-body style bag that can display a substantial amount of product, this is the perfect everyday bag! Now you can carry around your essentials and display products to potential customers on-the-go!

The bag measures approximately 13″ Wide, 9″ Tall, 3″ Deep and includes a main zipper closure, one interior zipper pocket, two exterior zippered clear windows, an adjustable strap, and a marine vinyl bottom accent piece.

When printing the pattern, please print at actual size and MAKE SURE to measure the test square before beginning.

Materials Needed:

-Exterior Fabric (I use quilting cotton): • 1 fat quarter • 1 piece 5” X 1.5” (for the strap connectors)
-Lining Fabric (I use a waterproof canvas which requires no interfacing – you can use any fabric you choose, including quilting cotton, with your choice of interfacing): • ¾ yard
-Bottom Accent Piece • 1 piece of Marine Vinyl 17” X 7”
-Interfacing (This assumes you will be interfacing both the exterior and lining of the bag). • 1 fat quarter of fusible fleece • ¾ yard of SF 101 • 1 piece 5” X 1.5” for the strap connectors (I use Pellon 809 for this)
-Clear Vinyl – 20 gauge: (I get mine on a large roll from Fabric.com) • 2 pieces, each at least 6 5/8” X 16 ¼”
-Zippers (note, I almost ALWAYS work with longer zippers than necessary whenever I can, because I find it easier. In this case, the longer the main zipper, the easier the rest of the bag construction is. • One 24” #3 nylon zipper • Two 18” or longer #3 nylon zippers • One 9” or longer #3 nylon zipper
-Strap: • 60” of 1” wide webbing (light to midweight nylon is what I like to use)
-Hardware: • Two ¾” D rings • Two 1” swivel clips • One 1” wide triglide slide • Optional hardware: 9mm Rivets and metal bag labels (I use both of these on mine, but they are not necessary).
-Other REALLY useful stuff: • Fabri-tac and/or ¼” double sided tape, such as Wonder Tape
-When it comes to this clear vinyl, a walking foot or Teflon foot will be of great help.
-All the other normal sewing stuff: sewing machine needle, thread, Cutting mat, rulers, fabric pen or chalk
