February Socks 2026

Sock number two, yes I am on a run, just another ten to come up with. This months uses yarn that I have had for ages and inspiration just didn’t strike, so with a nod to Valentines here are the February socks with a lovely bit of colour work

Skill level

Knitting from the top down with a heel flap and ending with a round toe these are based on my basic sock pattern so are

super easy to follow. Written in three circumference sizes just follow Small (S), Medium (M) or Large (L) throughout the pattern. The colour work is completed by following a two colour chart.

Materials needed

4ply sock yarn, 50g / 200 meters of Yarn A the variegated rainbow and 15g / 60 meters of Yarn B (background colour)

(which is sufficient for a UK size 7 shoe, so if you are knitting shorter or longer you will need to adjust a little your yarn weight)

Needles: 2.5mm double pointed needles

Three moveable stitch markers, sewing up needle for grafting and scissors

Sizes

Circumference (the widest part of the foot, all the way around)

Small - 19 cm / 7.5 inches - 56 sts

Medium - 21.5 cm / 8.5 inches - 64 sts

Large - 24.5 cm / 9.5 inches - 72 sts
