Double Feature
Double Feature is an any-gauge double-sided cowl and a hood, designed to be knit while watching movies! Change colors for each movie so that each stripe represents a movie.
This pattern exists within a zine about Movie Knitting. In it, you can see what movies I watched while knitting the samples, and a bunch of movie sweaters I’ve made too. The zine also includes some tips about taking your knitting into movie theaters!
See the blog post about the pattern for diagram tutorials of all the techniques used (required or optional, or recommended—I HIGHLY recommend weaving in your ends as you knit to start out each stripe!!) or find them all on my tutorial page linked above.
There are two files for the zine: color pages for reading on a screen (basically a mini-ebook), and a black & white pdf to be printed and folded into a zine. See this video for how to print/cut/bind it—it’s the same exact method, but with each page cut in half instead of into thirds like in the video. (Here are written instructions: print even pages only, flip on the long side the same as printing a normal 2-sided document, then print the odd pages. Keep pages as they are, with the cover page facing down, and cut the three pages in half across the center, with a paper cutter or scissors—fold them in half to find the center if needed. Let the side with the cover on the bottom fall to the table, then set the other half on top of it—you should see pages 12-13 on top now. Fold in half with the cover in front and pages 12-13 in the center inside. All pages should now be in order! Bind with a long-arm stapler or with needle & thread, or carefully use a sewing machine with the longest stitch length.)
