The Diana dress is a lightly tailored midi-length dress with a lapel and revere neckline. The dress has princess seams across the front and back and two armhole options. The first option is a sleeveless style with narrow shoulders and the second includes a full shoulder seam and cap sleeves. The top is the same as the dress in design. If you'd like to share your own version of the Diana, please use the hashtag #nhdiana so I can easily find your posts!

Skill level:
This pattern is labelled as intermediate. This is due to the slightly more tailored style of collar, however the instructions booklet do go into depth on this, so a confident beginner with a few projects under their belt could tackle this project too!
A basic knowledge of how to use a sewing pattern, and basic sewing machine knowledge is needed for this pattern.

Fabric and notions:
This pattern has been designed for light-medium weight woven fabric with little to no stretch. We recommend something with a nice structure and nothing too light. You want it to have a little bit of weight to support the button stand and collar. Crisp cottons of a shirting weight, cotton twill, light-weight denim and chambray, linen and linen blends, Tencel, and suitings are all perfect for this dress. Avoid lightweight drapey fabrics like viscose or crepe.
Fabric used in the photos:
- Chocolate brown linen - available here. Also available as a sewing kit here.
- Cream cotton twill broadcloth - available from Yardblox* here.
- Black tencel twill (sold out)
*note - this fabric was gifted to me from Yardblox.
